Chiropractic Care
What is Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a health care system based on the principle that the body is capable of healing and maintaining itself given adequate nutrition, rest and a healthy, functioning nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves), providing no irreparable tissue damage has been sustained.
All systems in the body are maintained and controlled by the nervous system.
Why is the Spine Important?
Your spine is responsible for the protection and support of your spinal cord. Your spinal cord is how your brain and the central nervous system communicates with and regulates the rest of your body. For this reason, protection and healthy maintenance of your spine is critical to your whole body's health and well-being.
What do Chiropractors Do?
Chiropractors examine the spine for subluxations (where a bone/vertebrae have moved out of position and are restricting the sensorimotor nervous system) and perform an adjustment to realign it and improve the sensorimotor integrity.
Chiropractors are extensively trained to identify subluxations of the spine through various techniques. As part of the assessment, adjustments are then made to fix the subluxation and return the body to its natural state.
Who needs chiropractic care?
Everyone needs chiropractic care. Whether it's yourself, family or friends, whether you are experiencing pain or you just want to improve your health. Whether you are young, old, or anywhere between, whether you are tall or vertically challenged, chiropractic care can help you.
Chiropractic care is about restoring your body to be the highly tuned machine it was designed to be. Every cell of the body (skin, hair, heart, liver, stomach, muscles, bones, ligaments, etc.) is governed by the brain. This information from the brain travels via the spinal cord. If there are changes to the spine this interrupts the signals giving a state of un-ease or dis-ease. This in turn decreases nerve information to the body cells which expresses itself as pain, stiffness, illness and fatigue to name but a few.
By reducing biomechanical dysfunction of the spine, chiropractic can increase the brains ability to communicate with the rest of your body, which will improve the health and well-being of the person.
Chiropractic is a safe and gentle way to improve and maintain your health.
Is chiropractic adjustment safe for kids?
Yes. Chiropractic has had a lot of success in changing the symptoms of minors for colic, asthma, bowel habits, constipation, bed wetting, mood changes and more.

Prevention is Better than Cure
Once your spine has been restored, it is important that this be maintained. Regular checkups will help ensure your body remains in the best possible health, but you need to take care of your body as well and exercises and nutritional information may be shared to help guard against future damage and promote a healthy posture and overall lifestyle.
